It was a warm winter Saturday night, and I went to one of my favorite VFW, Everett McClay Post 1296 VFW. I was there to watch the very distinguished band that the locals love and follow. Hitting every note and beat with flare!
The Bird Dog Band is a classic rock and roll band that plays some country and a little bit of the blues. This is one of the few bands I see that people dance to them from start to finish. The age group of the fans is 20 and up to 80-year-olds.
Where ever The Bird Dog Band plays, they pack them in. Melody Gilbert, the lead singer, also plays the drums, keys, and guitar. Jerome Johnson plays bass guitar and sings. Jamie Farnum is a drummer who sings for the band, and last is David Hamm a guitarist and singer. All work well together for a perfect perfection of music with high pack energy.
For their guest singer, they had Ginny Davis, who also video tapes many local bands and music events.
