Open Mic at The Goat Coffee Shop
By Mitzi Beliveau
It was a Thursday evening at The Goat Coffee Shop that I attended an Open Mic. I love going to anything musical. Open Mic and Jam sessions our my favorites.
This was my first time at the open mic session, and it was filled with musicians, singers, and local music enthusiast. I had a cold tea drink as I mixed and mingled with everyone. A small coffee and tea place with food that is a local hot spot in the Dayton’s Bluff neighborhood in Saint Paul, Minnesota.
Some people were expert musicians and singers. Others on their way to be known in the music world. I think that is where I come in sometimes. Writing about new people to lift them up and out into the music world.
The first to sing and play the guitar was Misha Louise, who sang and played the guitar like a pro. Even and steady and on tempo and beat. I learned she also has recorded music! You can find out more about Misha Louise on her Facebook page. https://www.facebook.com/MishaLouiseMusic/

Next was the duo playing Corrine by Fox Theory
The pair was part of the band playing Indi Punk music. You can find out more about them on their Facebook page

The single guitarist playing a few tunes for us was Liam Martineau. A very nice and pleasant young man. Every note on the beat and I love his guitar color!
Last I heard the young man who also took my order. Smooth voice and great rhythm in the guitar. I asked him his name, and he said, “J.” Here is J’s picture.
My advice is for everyone to come to the open mic and either play or listen while you have a nice cup of coffee, tea or food. You get great service too! I’ll be back!
