Spotlight: Todd Martenson
By Mitzi Beliveau
It was at the Monday night Apple Jam Session in Apple Valley, Minnesota at the American Legion, that I met and heard Todd Martenson sing and play the guitar. Todd, as his friends call him, told me that he did not start playing the guitar until he was 35 years old.
At the time I heard Todd for the first time he was singing and playing both the Blues and Country. I have also listened to some of his own originals music he wrote and sings. Todd is quite talented and has a fantastic voice. Todd hits each note to perfection and seems like a well-seasoned guitar professional.
As Todd plays with others at the Apple Valley Jam Session, he blends in and works well. Always on beat and notes. You can feel the emotions in the songs he sings that only true professional can do. Todd has been in several bands; Spooky Poodle, Lucky U, Dream Addict and now is in his own band called Dude.
Check Todd out and maybe book him at your place for a delightful evening or for an event.
I give five stars for tempo, voice beat, and stage present. Great job, Todd!
