As I enter the East Side Enterprise Center building, I can hear the music from WEQY 104.7 FM radio station. It is located on the East Side Saint Paul, Minnesota, Dayton’s Bluff area. I was able to meet the Station Director, Shay Glorious Martin, and Miss Brenda Reid Program Manager of the station. Both have a great present of grandness and love. Each shine with love and leadership within the African Community and the East Side Saint Paul, Minnesota. I can see why the two were chosen to be the top two people at WEQY 104.7 FM radio station.
Together Glo as people call him, and Miss Brenda, as everyone calls her, make this radio station the best small radio station in the state of Minnesota. As in some small non-profit radio station, it serves the local area with smooth music and announcing events of the neighborhood. Along with being the best service with music and events, the radio station WEQY 104.7 FM radio station also mentors and teaches young people how to be DJs.
I have watched the young people come in and learn how the radio station WEQY 104.7 FM works but also becoming good stewards of the community. It not all about just playing music. It is learning to choose the right music, the right sound, and knowing who your listeners are. Other things Glo teaches young people to work with the ethnically diverse neighbor whom you serve. The young people are great when they first come but have that pazazz outlook that Glo teaches. Yes, it is a service to the community, and everyone who works there serves the community.
The young people come in students, but come out winners thanks to Glo, who is a great leader and teacher. An old pro at teaching and mentoring young people in the community and is well known throughout the metro area and beyond.
At any time if you turn on WEQY 104.7 FM you can hear, hip hop, blues, smooth Rock and Roll and a little bit of everything tasteful and beautiful. You will also hear, local and excellent listening music for the area. WEQY 104.7 FM is a low -power FM station also called LPFM. Don’t forget to listen to what is going on locally, be in the know about what is going on in Saint Paul, Dayton’s Bluff neighborhood.
