Sheridan Zuther
By Mitzi Beliveau
It was at a swing dance at the Wabasha Street Caves in Saint Paul, Minnesota that I met Sheridan Zuther. I was with a dance group, and one of the favorite places to dance is the Wabasha Street Caves.
Sheridan walked up to us with our Meetup sign on our table and said are you in the same group as Barbara Peterson? Yes, we are! Barbara was one of our leaders in the Meetup group, but she had passed away over a year ago. As we began to talk and share, I found out that Sheridan was singing with the Beasley’s Big Band that night.
As Sheridan and I talked, I could see Sheridan had the best smile I have seen in a long time. Sheridan went up to sing, our group and others at the Wabasha Street Caves were delighted. We all danced to this lovely voice back up by a great band, the Beasley’s Big Band.
Sheridan has a very diverse voice singing old tunes from the 40s and 50s, big band music, soft rock, and roll with poise and precision. Sheridan has a powerful voice that was right on notes and held some notes longer than some of the old-time classic singers I have heard over the years. I can see why Beasley’s Big Band asked Sheridan to fill in that night.
I give Sheridan Zuther five stars for excellent stage presence. Five stars for tempo and beat. Five stars for voice and breath. I would definitely recommend Sheridan Zuther for big band music, Jazz, rock and roll along with anything else musical. I would recommend Sheridan at any event you have planned for music entertainment. I’m a new fan and looking forward to seeing Sheridan Zuther again.
