Snapshot: Rock Camp Experience “Best of The Season Show”
By Mitzi Beliveau
It was an afternoon during a winter storm warning that I went to Route 47 Pub and Grub to see and hear Rock Camp Experience “Best of The Season Show.” Being the hardy Minnesotan I am, winter storms don’t slow me down. I was in for a treat and some of the best music around that Sunday afternoon. Rock Camp Experience helps people sing and play musical instruments and have the experience of being in a band. A bucket list for sure!
I was there early to check things out and meet a few people. It was a new friend I had met Bob Arndt that I told me about this music event. Bob as his friends call him was singing in two of the bands that afternoon. There were seven bands in all. These seven bands were all people getting together through this adult music Rock Camp Experience at different levels. Developing friendships and skills to be the best that they can be in the music world.
As people came, I saw anticipations of waiting to be the next group on stage. Everyone encouraging each other. Families were there, and this is where route 47 Pub and Grub stand out. They cater to everyone and make sure everyone’s experience is a good one. I can see why the Rock Camp Experience chose this venue. Route 47 Pub and Grub are also very family friendly seeing to the children’s needs as well.
My friend Bob Arndt sang both solos and blended in two band groups. Bob has been playing in bands since the late ’60s. Bob’s current band (Mr. Winky) has been performing since 1988. Bob has done 50+ Camps at Rock Camp since 2012.
I really didn’t see any bad performances. Everyone was very professional and created great music. I felt like I was at a music festival. Great job Rock Camp Experience! Whatever you are doing Rock Camp Experience, it is working. I see great performance coming from your teaching and mentoring of Rock musicians and singers.
I will also give a shout out to the sound guy who makes sure everything is running smoothly.
