Winter School Closing Song Swartz Creek Community Schools
By Mitzi Beliveau
It was a frigid winter cold snap as I was reading thru my Facebook. I had heard several songs from schools about school closings I happen to read one that my Facebook friends posted. It was a “Hallelujah” song with the words changed to fit for the school closing. It was a video school closing that had over 679,360 people who watched it on Youtube as of 6 AM the morning of 01/30/2019.
I have to say there are two very talented singers in the Swartz Creek Community Schools District in the state of Michigan. Singers Ben Mainka Superintendent of schools for Swartz Creek Community School District who sang the tenor part. Principal Jim Kitchen of Swartz Creek High School sang the bass. Well, blended voices and a well put together video. Not a lot of thrills but just the facts and great music.
Swartz Creek Community Schools have great musical talent starting from the top of the school administration. Great job Superintendent Ben Mainka and Principal Jim Kitchen of Swartz Creek High School. I hope to hear more from the two of you soon in the music world. The local news also wrote the story about the video and posted the duo’s video.
Below is the link to the Youtube video. Hope you enjoy it as much as I did.
