2025 Best Music in the Twin Cities Area

As some of you know I have been ill and unable to go out and listen to music. It has been a few years since I recognized local music bands, singers, and web music. This year I decided to let a few musicians, singers and long time music influencers be the judges on my behalf.

I listed the names but not who named the top bands/singers. Thank you for the hard work of all the bands, singers and musicians who work hard at the craft. Some are not recognized and I wished I could list you. Keep working and spread your healing music. Thank you to the promoters, businesses that pay the musical community to play. Thank you everyone in the local live music business helping to spread the healing music of every genre.

To my dancing friends, keep on dancing, be happy, stay safe, and have fun exercising via dancing!

Judges for this Special Recognitions in the Twin Cities area are:

Ginny Davis

Ginny Davis is well known all over the world. Yes that is true. She has been singing for decades and in several bands. In her worldwide travels, she has sung with local bands, at local pubs, and at festivals all over the world. Everyone who knows Ginny knows she is a networker, influencer, and well known singer of different genres. Ginny is a powerful singer who gets recognized everywhere she goes. If people don’t know her and she sings, people love her. Ginny spreads joy, love, healing and magic in her singing. Ginny Davis presently is lead female lead singer in the Bird Dogs band. Doug Spinthall

I met Doug at a VFW. I have seen Doug play his mean guitar with fingers of magic. Well known in the music community as a great musician. At times Doug has been asked to fill in for other bands. People know Doug’s talent and trust him. Another grand musician in the music business for decades. Doug is also an influencer and networker in the music community and people trust him to give advice and tell it like it is, in a gentle way, sometimes. Lol. Jonas Mayer

A very powerful drummer and powerhouse networker. I have seen my old friend at a local business where other bands play, giving support to local businesses and the bands. Jonas also is an influencer of different music genres throughout the Twin Cities area. Helping promote local bands behind the scenes. I see him, but others don’t even know he is there. Sometimes he will give a wave to the band to acknowledge he is there. That does make a difference. When another band member is seen and acknowledged where they play, it helps. It’s saying, I am here for you bud! Thank you old friend for being a judge this year for me. Love ya!

Tim Cheesebrow

Tim Cheesebrow has his own band and small business. Tim also sings with others in the local music of Bluegrass. Some people don’t know I used to be in a band where I was the lead female singer in a bluegrass band. So of course I love the local bluegrass music community! Long time influencer and networker in local live music Tim is known by many musicians in the Twin Cities area. Tim is a producer of music, song writer, and a music educator. Tim Cleland

Long time singer and musician, Tim Cleland has his own band and collaborated with other musicians and singers in the Twin Cities area. Tim’s Band is The Lowdown Dirty Fools. https://www.facebook.com/starlitefive Tim was in a band called Starlite for years. Tim Cleland is mostly a blues man with hitting the rock and roll tunes as well. Once a month for now Tim’s band, The Lowdown Dirty Fools play at the MN Music Cafe the 1st Thursday of every month. Tim is also a networker, volunteer, and influencer in the Blues music community. But you will also see him involved with other genres as well. Tim has been in the music community for decades and if you ask someone in the blues community if they know Tim Cleland, they know him and only have great things to say about him. Shirley Schuldt Devine Smith

Shirley knows her bands, often recommending bands to me in the past. Shirley is an influencer in the local music community. A definite knowledge of local bands, singers and talent. An experienced networker in the music community as well and excellent trust of her word. Thank you for being a judge.
